Biography
Prof. Samuel Lutta is an associate professor of Chemistry and holds PhD in inorganic chemistry. He is a subject expert in inorganic chemistry, material science and environmental chemistry.
Prof. Samuel Lutta holds B.Ed (Hons) from Egerton University, MSc (Chemistry) from Egerton University and PhD (Inorganic Chemistry) from State University New York - Binghamton USA. He was awarded commonwealth fellowship in 2012 to do a Postdoc in University of Strathclyde in UK.
He joined University of Eldoret in 1999 when it was campus of Moi University as a tutorial fellow and rose through the various academic ranks before becoming an associate professor in 2015.
Prof. Lutta is also a researcher and has attended several conferences and published over 30 articles in refereed journals. His areas of research interest are inorganic chemistry, material science and environmental chemistry.
He has supervised over 25 postgraduate students and examined over 40 theses. He is also served as an external examiner of several local and international Universities.
Prof. Lutta has also participated in other administrative activities in the University having been the University Time-tabler, a member of various adhoc committees that developed University policies and Dean of the School of Science.
