UoE & Cytonn Investments signed an MoU on April 4th, 2018 at the UoE Nairobi Liaison office. The overall purpose of the partnership is to provide a platform for cooperation between the 2 institutions, promote skills development and strengthening industry academia linkages in promoting a suitable and equitable knowledge economy. The collaboration is expected to increase entrepreneurial knowledge and investment skills that will contribute considerably to meeting high-end talent in the economy. Additionally, the partnership will enhance training and capacity at the University with case studies and practical experience intended to support the economy and the business sector in general. The partnership will lead to an increase of output of professionals conversant with financial services, real estate and technology skills – thus leading to the possibility of various solutions to local problems.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Teresa Akenga was represented by Prof. Violet Mugalavai – Director, ILPC. The Cytonn team was led by Mrs. Ann Wanjiru – Asst. Human Resource Manager. Members of the UoE team who witnessed the event were Prof. Elizabeth Omami – Dean, School of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Dr. Paul Oduori – Dean, School of Economics, Dr. Andrew Kiplagat – HoD, Planning & Management, Dr. Grace Cheserek – Senior Lecturer, School of Environmental Studies and Mr. Edgar Saitoti – Admin – Nairobi Liaisons Office.
