The University of Eldoret has entered into a collaboration with the University of Greenwich in order to enhance mentoring and capacity building in the various research niche between the two Universities.
According to the Director of Natural Resources Institute Prof. Andrew Westby, he acknowledged that the long-term objective of the collaboration is aimed at stimulating Student-Staff Exchange Programs and funding researching activities in their various fields of expertise.
The Vice-Chancellor University of Eldoret Prof. Teresa Akenga on her part reiterated that this collaboration will come in handy in assisting the University to develop further capacities in enhancing food security and food nutrition which is a key niche in the University operations.
Prof. Tim Chancellor from University of Greenwich also noted the importance of this collaboration noting that, it will come in handy in enhancing further capacity building in the area of Aquaculture which the University of Eldoret is well endowed in.
The University of Eldoret lead delegator, Prof. Julius Ochuodho commented the two Universities for entering into this partnership and noted that the agreement being general will provide ample room for further collaboration between the two Universities.
Also present during the MoU signing were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration and Finance Prof. Wilson Ng'etich, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic and Students Affairs Prof. Ruth Otunga, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Planning Research and Extension Prof. Phillip Raburu, Senior Legal Officer Stephen Anditi, Director Research and Innovation Prof. Vincent Sudoi, Prof. Odipo Osano, and Prof. Julius Manyala.
