It was a joyous moment for Joy Edah, when her name was read out by the Chief Guest, Deputy Governor Uasin-Gishu County H.E. Hon. Eng. John Barorot, as the winner of this year’s raffle prize. The winner could not believe the good news after her raffle ticket was picked out during the final day of the Agribusiness Trade Fair 2023. The top prize of a heifer worth One Hundred Thousand shillings (Ksh. 100,000.00) was a donation from the University as the raffle prize of this year’s Trade Fair.
The 32 year old lady from Siaya County, Alego Sub-County who works with the Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC) participated in the raffle competition which is always the climax of the three day Agribusiness Trade Fair. Hon. Eng. John Barorot, presented the heifer to the winner and congratulated her for winning such a prize from University of Eldoret. The winner was awarded in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Thomas Cheruiyot, members of the Council, University Management Board among other guests.
Among other prizes that were awarded that day included two containers of Artificial Insemination (AI) from Kenya Animal Genetic Research Centre (KAGRC) worth One Hundred Thousand shillings (Ksh. 100,000.00) each. This awards went to the two farmers who got their raffle tickets from the KAGRC stand.
